  D'OH!

Su 7.4.10

Firstly, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! DON'T BLOW YOURSELVES UP! kthx.

Secondly, I just wanted to briefly express my frustration with the GP. So not only did a tiny bit of oil start leaking from the rear main, but apparently the clutch slave cylinder started leaking as well, leaving a path of hydraulic fluid and bubbling paint between the engine cradle and my driveway. I finish the exhaust, and everything starts leaking. I can't win.

Guess I'm ordering a new slave cylinder. Maybe putting the Ford C302 injectors in tomorrow will make me feel better.

ARGH! Yes David, this is real life

Sa 7.3.10

So unfortunetly, real life wins out even in the summer. I mean, I'm not complaining too much. Having a pretty decent paying full-time summer internship where I'm learning how to use Bridgeports, Hardinge lathes and other fancy machine shop equipment is pretty awesome. Not to mention how to use measuring equipment that I never knew existed (while not quite qualifying as geeky, to my friends anyway that probably rates at least an 8.0 on their cool-as-geek-o-meter). But school. UGH school. Especially at the same time with work.

Kiddies, don't wait until after your senior year to pass that freshman calculus class. 'Cause it's bad enough the first two times.

In other news, the banner car runs and was even sitting on four wheels for a few days *yay*. Except it runs like ass, and, apparently, the rear main seal was leaking. Which I suspected before swapping transmissions again, but just kinda passed off the puddle for entirely being expensive Syncromesh after I saw that the shift rail detent cover was cracked. Apparently, it was not just Syncromesh. So FML.

  RI Flooding! oh noes!

W 3.31.10

So! Rhode Island has been undergoing some of the worst flooding in apparently the past 100 years. RIDOT has been keeping Google Maps updated with statewide road closures [ here ]

Here's some footage I shot yesterday after leaving URI after showing up for no apparent reason.. (the campus flooded ~the same week last year and they knew it would be bad, but they waited til 11 am to cancel classes anyway, after having to cut power to most buildings due to leaks).

I know, it's kinda boring. It gets interesting around the 1:30 mark. Plus you all get to see my cool, wrongly-colored heads-up display (which became available in the Cutlass Supreme in 1988. Take that BMW!)

Helped the ex and her mom clear out water from their basement. Still coming in today, but it hasn't gotten above an inch so it could be much worse. South Kingstown, Cranston and Warwick got pretty messed up, I know that much. I'm just glad that I live on high ground.

  Conversion & Additions

Sa 2.20.10

Site's been undergoing a few steady changes over the course of the week, with the addition of an actual banner and conversion away from static html to a more dynamic format that'll make it easier for me to manage. Also started getting down some ideas for what exactly I'll have in the MCE section, just need to find some time to actually write the content now.

Stay tuned...

  Site Updates!

W 7.22.09

So as nobody has noticed, I'd started a couple more pages in the w-body section, including a part numbers page. Linked from the part numbers on that page are pictures of a good handful of actual part pictures. May come in handy when ordering.

Also, added a link to my ebay stuff for sale! And I'm currently selling stuff! So check that out! -my ebay!-

  24 HEURES du MANS!

Sa 6.13.09

And so this morning begins the great 24 Hours of LeMans race! Every year I'm very excited about this race, especially in recent years since Fox has taken over Speed; this is one of the few days of the year where Nascar doesn't dominate the channel (except for a Nascar lunch break seriously). I'm currently catching up on the DVR from this earlier, right now I'm about an hour into the race and there has already been a decent amount of heavy maintenance going on in the pits, hopefully these teams can hold it together over the remaining 17.5 hours of the race.

  NEWS!

W 6.10.09

I added a handful more specs to the W-body torque specifications page, and the Durango Designs section was lazily put back up, just as I used to have it. Maybe I'll standardize the themes at some point. Anyhoo, I'm working on finding a decent script to make it easy to add and browse through the hundreds of pictures I have sitting on my C drive, hopefully that should be along by the end of the week.

I don't really know what I have planned for the Mechanical Engineering section. I foresaw it as a place to share my limited knowledge of the field and place to upload a few TI-89 programs that I wrote for particular school things. But I don't know if it will take off to be anything big...

In the meantime, I'd like to promote one of my favorite youtubers, sxephil, and his website @ phillyd.tv. In a change from his previous five-day schedule, Phil now brings you the news the way he sees it on MWF ~5pm-ish EST. Be sure to check out his older shows on youtube as well for some entertainment, common sense and your douchebag of the day.
